Kagan McLeod has been illustrating for magazines, newspapers and design firms since 1999, after graduating from Sheridan College's illustration program. He began work as a staff artist for Canada’s National Post newspaper, and has since had work published in magazines around the world. He lives in Toronto with his wife, two daughters and hound dog, Buddy.


Nick Sheehy is an artist and freelance illustrator living in Leigh on Sea (UK) with girlfriend: Catherine, and 2 hamsters: Pam and Miriam. He enjoys drawing various weird things for himself, exhibitions, publications and occasionally the odd client.


Born 1981 in Tochigi,Japan. Graduated from the Tokyo Zokei University design department. Currently living and working in Tokyo and announced the watch collaborated with Swatch "ELECTRICITY MAN"(limited sale for 777) in 2010.


Natalie Ascencios is a painter, sculptor and marionette maker. She received her BA and BFA at the New School for Social Research at Eugene Lang College and Parsons The New School for Design. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Review of Books, Rolling Stone, Time, and many others. Ascencios paintings can also be seen in the various competitive annuals of the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts and Print annuals.


Tara McPherson is an artist based out of New York City. Creating art about people and their odd ways, her characters seem to exude an idealized innocence with a glimpse of hard earned wisdom in their eyes. Recalling many issues from childhood and good old life experience, she creates images that are thought provoking and seductive. People and their relationships are a central theme throughout her work.


Born in France in 1968. Studied graphic design in Paris at L.E.I. Rue Madame and École Supérieure Estienne. Graduated after five years in 1989, then crossed the Atlantic to live in Montréal, Canada. He still lives in Montréal, with his wife and his two kids.


Chanp is an independent artist. He is a senior artist at Imaginism Studios. He is currently illustrating covers and interiors for books, such as Harper Collin's 'The Familiars' series. His personal work is inspired by the fascination with the unknown; all of our imagination, fantasy, and magic in the world has seeds in what we do not know about or understand, and it's from these things that springs the greatest art. Previous film work: Alice in Wonderland (2010) - Character Design Assistant (Uncredited). Peter runs the Toronto Subway Sketch Group with Thierry Lafontaine.



Bobby's art career started when he was seventeen years old, designing Disney, Warner Bros., and Star Wars toys at Thinkway Toys in Toronto, Canada. Bobby has since won a number of awards for his independent work. He presently works as an illustrator for film and teaches digital painting online at Schoolism.com (www.schoolism.com), publishes art books, and works on other top secret projects.


Tim Biskup (b. Santa Monica, CA. 1967- ) was born and raised in Southern California where he lives and works to this day. From his early years going to punk rock shows and Disneyland in equal parts he was more concerned with his own aesthetic vision than with fitting in.


Jared Chapman was born in Louisiana, grew up in Texas, went to college in Georgia, and now lives in Austin. His clients include Walt Disney Television Animation, Nick Jr., McSweeney's, Hallmark, Jib Jab, Asthmatic Kitty Records, Mudpuppy, Thomas Nelson, Sterling Publishing, The Hollywood Reporter.


Sergio is a freelance graphic designer, illustrator & sort of printmaker - sometimes. He likes mythology and imaginary beings, as well as magic realism, non-liinearity, silence, miscommunication and long walks at night. Currently he's having a hard time figuring out what else to write in this box, and feels a little anxious about the fact that he ran out of space and had to start writing outside the box.


Ryan Chapman is a British artsit / illustrator who's personal work focuses on creating bold unique characters from simple shapes and objects in a range mediums from Paint to toy design.



Justin Mezzell is an illustrator and designer currently based in Orlando, Florida. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, he specializes in illustration, digital art, and UI/UX design. Additional samples from other bodies of work can be found below.


Peter de Sève is an American artist who has worked in the illustration and animation fields. He has drawn many covers for the magazine The New Yorker. As a character designer, he worked on the characters of A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Robots and the Ice Age trilogy (including Scrat). He received the National Cartoonist Society Magazine Illustration Award for 2000. He is part of the Directors Collective Hornet Incorporated company.


Luke Pearson is a freelance illustrator and comic book artist from the UK. He has produced work for clients such as Nobrow Press, Simon & Schuster, Random House, Channel 4, Preloaded, Wired, Radiolab, Gosh! Comics, Weezer, Margaret London, Playstation 3 and Little White Lies magazine.


She was born in Atlanta, grew up in Winnipeg, studied in Toronto, and now she live in London, England. she earned my Bachelor of Applied Arts (Illustration) with honours from Sheridan College’s School of Art and Design. She is a regular contributor to Canada’s daily newspaper the National Post. My illustration “Sink Hole” was featured in CMYK’s Top 100 New Creatives Issue #50.

Tom Whalen is a talented designer and accomplished illustrator from Pennsylvania. Tom has made a career out of illustrating his passions for such things as comic books, poster art, movies, pop art, toy packaging, and more. He’s as passionate about drawing and illustration as he is art and design. He’s masterfully fused these passions in his distinctive poster designs.


Kansas City born illustrator, painter, ceramicist, and part-time junk collector Dick Daniels is a child of the 50's who blossomed in the full glare of the psychedelic 60's - influenced by the underground comix movement, American folk art, and cheap commercial packaging. Daniels worked as an illustrator at The Kansas City Star for five years and a card artist for Shoebox Greetings/Hallmark Cards since the late 80's.


Rob Ryan (born 1962) is a British visual artist who specialises in papercutting and screen-printing. He is now most famous for his detailed paper cut outs.


Hyewon Yum is the the author and illustrator of THERE ARE NO SCARY WOLVESand LAST NIGHT, she was born in Korea and studied painting and printmaking at Seoul National Unversity. She received her master of fine arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband and two young sons.


Dan Santat is an award winning children's book author and illustrator who is also the creator of the Disney Channel original animated series "The Replacements" His work has appeared in video games, film, animation, and magazines and galleries all over the country.


Carson Ellis was born in 1975 in Vancouver, Canada. She was raised in suburban New York and college-educated at the University of Montana in Missoula, where she earned a BFA in Painting in 1998.



Originally from Poland, She live in Canada with her illustrator husband Mike Kerr. Growing up in Europe she went to a high school where the main focus was art. She got a strong foundation in the basics of image making, such as drawing, painting, design, and sculpture. When she came to Canada she went to the Alberta College of Art & Design, where she figured out how to use the art skills she had learned in Warsaw.


Ted Lewin grew up in an old frame house in Buffalo, New York. Ted always knew he wanted to be an illustrator. As a child he copied the works of illustrators and painters he admired, including N. C. Wyeth, Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Valazquez and Goya. When it came time to go to art school (Pratt Institute), he needed to earn money to finance his education. So, following in his brothers footsteps, he took a summer job as a professional wrestler - the beginning of a fifteen year part-time career that eventually inspired his autobiographical book I Was a Teenage Professional Wrestler.


Zachariah OHora's illustrations have appeared in numerous publications, including theSan Francisco Chronicle, Flavorpill, and The Big Book of Fashion Illustration. He lives in Narberth, Pennsylvania with his wife and two sons. This is his first book for children.


LANE SMITH has written and illustrated a bunch of stuff. Most recentlyIt’s a Book which was on the New York Times bestseller list for over six months and has been translated into over twenty languages.


Kadir Nelson is an award-winning American artist whose works have been exhibited in major national and international publications, institutions, art galleries, and museums. Nelson earned a Bachelor’s degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and has since created paintings for a host of distinguished clients including Sports Illustrated, The Coca-Cola Company, The United States Postal Service, Major League Baseball, and Dreamworks SKG where he worked as a visual development artist creating concept artwork for feature films, “Amistad”, and “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron”.


Children's Author and Illustrator Rosalyn Schanzer, who writes books about history's greatest adventures, can't seem to sit still. That's why she has had a few adventures of her own.


Helquist was born in Ganado, Arizona, and grew up in Orem, Utah with his six sisters. As kids, they didn't go to many art museums. He says his love of art came from all the comic books he read. Brett earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Brigham Young University, and lives inNew York City (as of 2004). He has been published in the children's magazine Cricket, and the New York Times. He is represented by Steven Malk of Writers House in New York City.


She began to be an illustrator for magazines mostly, and she made paintings as well for exhibitions, and had two children, and moved from Sydney, Australia to New York and then did her first book, Ruby's Wish.

Kinuko Y. Craft is one of the most widely respected and well known fantasy artists in the United States today. She considers herself a story teller. Her past commissions have included paintings for the book covers of many well known fantasy authors, opera posters, fairy tale books and covers for many national magazines. During her career she has become known for meticulous attention to detail, a passionate love of fine art and a deep knowledge of art history.


He majored in sculpture at the University of Michigan, where he learned bronze casting, wood carving, resin molding and other techniques. He graduated in 1972 and went to graduate school at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to continue his study of sculpture. Though still involved in making sculptures, Chris set aside some time and created the story and pictures that became The Garden of Abdul Gasazi, published in 1979. Since then, Chris has written and illustrated 15 books and has illustrated three others that were written by Mark Helprin.


Wilson McLean began his career in a London silkscreen studio at fifteen. Born in Scotland, he moved to London at the age of ten where he attended various art schools at night while working on the staff of magazines and design studios. This exposed him to the work of American artists and convinced him that eventually he would go to America. At twenty-three, Wilson moved to Copenhagen and the beginning of study and serious work. After a period of time working in Spain, he returned to London for several years before deciding to move to New York


Fred Otnes was born in Junction City, Kansas in 1930. A resident of Connecticut, he is best known for his collage paintings. Studied at The Art Institute of Chicago & The American Academy, from 1949-52. In 1962 he began a 30 year association with Artists Associates, New York



A native of Philadelphia, Jerry studied at the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts) where, in 1992 he received the Alumni Award. He has been illustrating children's books since 1964, illustrating over one hundred titles and has been the recipient of five Caldecott Honor Medals, a Caldecott Medal, and five The New York Times "Best Illustrated Books".


John Jude Palencar was born 1957 in Fairview Park, Ohio. He is a fantasy, science fiction, and horror artist. Over 100 book covers have been adorned by his art, including all four covers of the Inheritance Cycle series by Christopher Paolini. He graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1980.


Tim O’Brien is an illustrator and portrait painter whose intricately detailed and imaginative illustrations have been published most notably in TIME Magazine as well as Der Spiegel, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, TV Guide, The Atlantic Monthly, Business Week, Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, PlanSponsor, National Geographic, Playboy, Penthouse, New York Magazine, The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Avon Books, Dial, Harper Collins, Penguin, Times Books, Scholastic, Simon & Schuster, TOR, Viking, Warner, and many others. Tim has designed several US Postage Stamps.


From J.R.R. Tolkiens' 'The Lord of the Rings' to Botticellis' 'La Primivera', Donato Giancola balances modern concepts with realism in his paintings to bridge the worlds of contemporary and historical figurative arts. His influences encompass visits to the local library and book stores as well as pilgrimages to the greatest of museums - including the Uffizzi, Prado, Louvre and Hermitage. Donato recognizes the significant cultural role played by visual art and makes personal efforts to contribute to the expansion and appreciation of oil painting that extend beyond his clients and exhibits. To those ends, the artist teaches at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and appears at various institutions, seminars, and conventions, from San Diego to Rome to Moscow, where he performs demonstrations in oil paint and lectures on his aesthetics.


Marc Burckhardt lives in Austin, Texas. His work has been profiled in 3x3 Magazine, Communication Arts, and Juxtapoz, and he has received numerous awards. Marc is past President of the Illustration Conference and Chair of the Society of Illustration trators 47th Annual, and currently serves on the advisory boards 3x3 and the Austin chapter of AIGA.


Tomer Hanuka is an illustrator and a cartoonist based in New York City. He works on a range of projects for magazines, book publishers, ad agencies and film studios. His Clients include The New Yorker, D.C comics, Nike and Microsoft. He has won multiple gold medals from the Society of Illustrators and the Society of Publication designers, and was showcased in Print magazine and American Illustration. In 2008 a book cover he created won the British Design Museum award as part of the Penguin Classics Deluxe Editions. Waltz With Bashir, an animated documentary for which Tomer contributed art, was nominated for an Oscar in 2009, and won the Golden Globe that same year. Currently he teaches at the School of Visual Arts and is working on a graphic novel with his twin brother Asaf and writer Boaz Lavie.


Bill Mayer has won numerous national awards for his work, which includes illustrating books for young readers as well as fulfilling requests from a range of Fortune 500 clients, among them Dreamworks, the U.S. Post Office, Hasbro, Mattel, The Cartoon Network, Time magazine, Delta Airlines, Levi's and RJR Nabisco. In 2010, he was honored by the Georgia Center for the Book for his work on "The Monster Who Did My Math," a book for young readers written by Danny Schnitzlein. The Center chose that book for its inaugural list of "25 Books All Young Georgians Should Read."


Los Angeles-based pop illustrator Lou Beach has been creating these bright, comical collages since the 70s and 80s.


Orit Bergman was born in Jerusalem and lives and works in Kerem Maharal, Israel. She writes and illustrates children’s books, and frequently contributes illustrations to newspapers, magazines, advertisement campaigns, and exhibitions.


She was born in Alaska, and grew up in Deep River Ontario, Canada. After attending the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, she moved to New York to pursue illustration and attend graduate school at The School of Visual Arts. Now her studio is in Brooklyn.
